George Michael, who admitted to driving while unfit, had a cocktail of legal and illegal drugs in his system, including GHB and cannabis, a court was told today.

George, 43, was not present at today’s hearing, was found slumped at the wheel of his Mercedes in Cricklewood, North London, in October last year.

Prosecutor Andrew Torrington told Brent Magistrates Court that tests had shown a therapeutic quantity of an anti-depressant in the singer’s system as well as the illegal, Class C, dance club drug GHB that is frequently known as liquid ecstasy. Cannabis was also found in his blood, but the prosecution does not maintain that this was the cause of his intoxication.
